Hills and plantationsKalibaru in East Java lies at the foot of Volcano Raung and has a pleasantly cool climate. Kalibaru is a good base for visiting the nearby coffee, cocoa and rubber plantations of the Ljen Plateau and it's a great place to stop on your way to the eastern tip of Java.From June to October you'll travel by minibus with other passengers during this East Java tour. Outside this period you'll travel east Java by private car with driver. |

Day 1: Mount Bromo - KalibaruToday, you'll leave your cottage in the Tengger mountains area and begin our East Java tour. You'll head to Kalibaru, a 5-hour drive along winding roads through the mountains.In late afternoon you'll arrive in the small mountain village of Kalibaru, where you'll stay in a comfortable hotel with a pool. The rooms are set in an unusual garden with all kinds of plants and trees. The village is very peaceful and there's not much to do here, but that's not necessarily a bad thing... |

Day 2: Kalibaru - Guided walk in the plantationsToday you'll take a guided walk through the plantations around Kalibaru. Your english-speaking guide will tell you all about the crops that are grown here and it’s amazing how effectively the locals use these natural resources for tea, shampoo and medicine. During the walk, you’ll visit a coffee plantation and also see how cocoa, rubber and cloves (for cigarettes) are grown. Later on, you can watch the rubber production process in a small rubber factory.You’ll spend another night in your comfortable hotel. |
Day 3: Kalibaru - End of moduleThis is where the module ends. We can arrange the transfer from Kalibaru to Ketapang, the ferry crossing to Bali and finally the transfer to your next destination on Bali, where you could start one of our Bali adventure tours. Try Forests and islands, Dolphins of Lovina or Cycling and hiking in paradise. You could also choose to travel to Surabaya from where you can catch a domestic flight to various destinations. |
