Diving on Gili Air

Just off north coast of Lombok you'll find the paradise Gili Islands. These tropical hideaways are perfect for lazing around in the sun and spending all day in your hammock, but they are also brilliant places to learn to dive. Our Gili diving trip includes accommodation and your PADI Open Water Gili Diving Course. You'll spend 4 nights on Gili Air, diving amongst exotic fish and coral and relaxing in the sunshine. If you're lucky, you might even spot one of the many sea turtles.

If you would like to have a bit of luxury for your beach time, you can upgrade to neighbouring Gili Trawangan.

Gili Air is the first of the three Gili Islands that you reach from Lombok or Bali. It's peaceful and charmingly small-scale and with excellent accommodation. During your Gili diving trip, you'll stay in a beautiful well-equipped bungalow, surrounded by tropical wildlife but close to the beach, so you won't have far to go when you're lugging your heavy scuba gear towards the sea.

When you're not diving underwater, you can spread out on one of the soft white beaches or explore the island on foot or by horse-drawn cart.

This Indonesia trip on Gili Air includes a PADI Open Water Diving Course. As a certified PADI Open Water diver you’ll be qualified to dive anywhere in the world. The course takes 3-4 days and includes a number of theoretical lessons on diving techniques, as well as 4 open water dives. Together with a diving buddy, you’ll learn all kinds of underwater diving tricks and experience that magical feeling of being weightless in the underwater world. Once you’ve completed your Open Water Diver Course on this Gili diving trip, you can upgrade to the PADI Advanced if you have time. The coral reef is being well looked after around this area, making it a brilliant place for some Gili diving. You'll see clownfish, angelfish, seahorses, batfish and perhaps even a giant turtle. You'll also float past many different species of coral, such as the rare and exotically named blue-tinted stag horn.
