Our accommodation in Indonesia is reviewed regularly, and we can certainly vouch for their quality.The Indonesians have good taste when it comes to interior decorating (outdoor bathrooms, lots of wood, bamboo and natural colours) and the setting is usually very exotic. Most of the accommodation in Indonesia is small-scale which means you can get to know the owners personally. You’ll often be staying in “cottage-style” accommodation, surrounded by tropical vegetation or with sea views, and there’s almost always a pool. |

Indonesia Travel Plan uses a category of 1 to 5 to rate the accommodation we use. It should also be mentioned that our category ratings are not official star ratings. Category 1 - Very basic accommodation in Indonesia Basic accommodation in a hut/tent with limited facilities. This form of accommodation is what you would use during a trekking to a remote area. Category 2 - Simple accommodation in Indonesia Simple but reasonably comfortable, private room with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Usually beautifully located in open settings with rural atmosphere. Category 3 - Comfortable accommodation in Indonesia Bungalow or room with private bathroom. Authentic atmosphere and/or romantic location Category 4 – Very comfortable accommodation in Indonesia Spacious bungalow or room, tastefully decorated and with extra facilities. E.g. historic villa or luxury modern hotel. Usually with pool. Category 5 – Luxury accommodation in Indonesia Spacious bungalow or room in luxurious settings, large bathroom, extra facilities and mostly with pool. |
