You can combine our short Indonesia adventure tours using our quote request form, or you can just drop us an email or give us a call to discuss your Indonesia ideas. Due to European legislation we currently cannot book any domestic Indonesia flights from the UK, which means that the more remote islands like Sumatra and Nusa Tenggara can be difficult to reach. Our travel specialists will be happy to give you more advice on how best to plan your trip and find these flights. Prices are valid from 1 January 2010 – 31 March 2011.

Bali tours

Bali is full of surprises. You'll be astounded by the spectacular sawas, the infinite shades of green and the fantastically rich culture and religion. Try spending the night in the Balinese countryside in small-scale accommodation packed with rural charm and meet the welcoming local villagers on their way to the temple with their fruit offerings.

We have put together nine different Bali adventure tours, which will help you to experience the natural diversity, the beautiful beaches and the Hindu culture and religion of the island. During your trip, you can sleep amidst green rice paddies, climb Mount Agung, visit traditional villages and explore the lesser-known interior of this fascinating island.

Java tours

Endless tea plantations, smoking volcanoes, bright rice paddies, and historic colonial cities. That’s what you can expect to encounter on your journey across Java from Jakarta in the west to Kalibaru in the far east. We have put together five different Indonesia adventure tours on Java, each offering you a unique and unforgettable experience.

We have carefully selected our accommodation based on atmosphere and location, either close to the centre or out in the countryside with great views away from busy roads. You’ll travel across Java by private car with your own driver, giving you plenty of flexibility. This way you can set your own pace, stopping wherever and whenever you want.

We can also arrange a transfer from Kalibaru by boat to Bali where you can continue on the next leg of your Indonesia adventure tour.

Sumatra tours

Sumatra is the most western island of Indonesia and considered by many to be the most interesting and diverse in the archipelago. The island boasts a huge natural diversity; dense jungle and giant crater lakes, rivers, waterfalls and towering volcanoes. Sumatra is also home to several different ethnic groups like the once legendary headhunters and cannibals on Samosir, and the colourful Minangkabau tribe in Bukittinggi. But the most famous native of Sumatra is probably the orang-utan which can be found in the Gunung Leuser National Park in the north.

On Sumatra, you can choose from a short 6-day trip in the north, giving you a good impression of everything the island has to offer and then a number of shorter Indonesia adventure tours which will take you to the south of the island for a complete Sumatra experience.

Sulawesi tours

Sulawesi, or Celebes as it was once known is the most jaggedly-shaped island in the archipelago. There’s a lot to see, do and experience here. In South Sulawesi, you’ll find the traditional Toraja, famous for their fascinating and colourful wedding ceremonies. You’ll also find high mountain peaks with breathtaking views, lush green rice terraces, pearly white beaches and colourful coral reefs. The volcanic north is home to the Minahasa culture with their distinctive wooden stilted houses and religious stone statues. The smallest and probably most endearing inhabitant of Sulawesi is the huge-eyed tarsier which you’ll find hiding among the foliage in Tangkoko. An Indonesia adventure tour to Sulawesi wouldn’t be complete without some diving or snorkelling amongst some of the best coral reefs in Indonesia, and you can get your flippers out for Bunaken Island. With our Indonesia adventure tours you can choose to visit either the south or the north, or combine both regions for a complete Sulawesi experience.

Lombok, Flores, Komodo and the Gili Islands

Nusa Tenggara includes Lombok, Flores, Komodo National Park and the tropical Gili Islands. Lombok is the most popular of the islands, but it has still managed to retain a relaxed atmosphere. Northern Lombok is dominated by 13 mountains, with Gunung Rinjani towering above them at 3726m. At Kuta you’ll find long white beaches and sparkling blue seas, also plentiful on the castaway Gili Islands. Further inland, world-famous Indonesia pottery is made by traditional means (without a potters wheel) in three small villages.

Flores has yet to be discovered by mass tourism, and the hilly countryside is home to several ethnic groups that still live by ancient means. This is also where you’ll find the Kelimutu volcano with its three mysteriously coloured lakes. Travelling across Flores you’ll pass mountains, rice paddies, plantations and spectacular coastline, making it perfect for an Indonesia adventure tour.

The Komodo National Park covers two islands: Komodo and Rinca. This is the only place in the world where you can find the giant Komodo dragon (well, it’s a lizard actually) in the wild and the Park was recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. During your Indonesia adventure tour, you can explore the park on foot with a local guide in search of the dragon.
