Northern Sulawesi may be renowned for the fantastic snorkeling and diving around the islands, but the interior of Sulawesi is a hidden gem of culture and natural beauty. Nestled at the foot of two volcanoes lie the Minahasa villages with their distinctive wooden houses on stilts. Just off the northern tip of Sulawesi, hidden amongst the mangrove forests, lies a tiny island with pearly white beaches fringed by palm trees.
