Bali adventure tours

Bali has so many interesting places inland and along the tropical coastline that it can hard to know where to begin. Each of our short Bali tours (modules) usually lasts 3-4 days and includes accommodation and a local excursion. Your accommodation will be very atmospheric and beautifully located, perhaps amongst fresh green rice paddies, in a water palace, or with views across turquoise seas. Excursions are often included in the Bali tours, and mostly with private guide.

We’ve presented our Bali tours in an anti-clockwise direction from the south of the island, but you’re totally welcome to choose a different route. Mostly, you'll travel between each destination  by private car with driver. Alternatively, you can choose rent a car on Bali and explore the island on your own four wheels. Costs for car rental will be added on to the module price.

Prices below are valid until 31st October 2012, are based on two people travelling and exclude international flights. Prices for departures beyond this date and for international flights are available on request. For departures during peak seasons (e.g. summer holidays, Christmas and New Year) supplements may apply.

South Bali tours Cycling through paradise

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Price: £138 per person - based on 2 people
Departure: Daily from Ubud
Route: Ubud - Cycling tour - Ubud
Just north of Ubud lies a little piece of paradise. The rice paddies here are so vibrantly green that you’ll think you’re in the Garden of Eden. The valleys and hillside terraces seem to stretch on forever and the ancient, traditional villages form a stark contrast to the touristically developed south. During this Bali tour, you’ll cycle high up into hills, freewheeling all the way back down again through the stunning countryside. Your accommodation in the middle of the rice paddies is equally unforgettable.

South East Bali tours The river and the volcano

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Price: £195 per person - based on 2 people
Departure: Daily from Sidemen
Route: Sidemen - Gunung Agung
Sidemen is a typical Balinese village tucked away in a green valley. It's the quintessential rural image - people washing in the river, farmers working in the fields and carts slowly rolling along the paths. On the horizon the majestic volcano beckons and climb all the way to the top if you feel up to it. During this Bali tour, you'll stay in a charming cottage in a rustic green valley within walking distance of the river.

Route: Candidasa - Amed
In stark contrast to the popular, busy touristic south coast, the east coast of Bali remains quiet and unspoilt. Duration: 4 days / 3 nights
Price: £144 per person based on 2 people
Departure: Daily from Tirtagangga
Route: Tirtagangga - Seraya
Hidden in the heart of Bali amidst of vast rice paddies, lies the Tirtagangga Water Palace (literally "water from the Ganges"). During this Bali tour, you can sleep in the palace and take a dip in the pool of the former sovereign. It's also an ideal base for trekking through the surrounding countryside. This trip will then take you to the unspoilt east of Bali, stopping off to taste aromatic spices like ginger and cloves in an old temple along the way. An optional but interesting excursion is a visit to the local market and a Balinese cooking lesson with our Balinese cook.

East Bali tours Dolphins of Lovina

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Price: £79 per person - based on 2 people
Departure: Daily from Lovina
Route: Lovina beach - Dolphin-spotting trip - Lovina beach
Lovina, on the north coast of Bali, is a coastal resort with a lot more charm than the touristy resorts of the south. It’s been a popular hideaway for backpackers and adventure travellers for years, which has given it a laid-back character with lots little restaurants, shops and diving schools. Lovina beach may not be the prettiest - the dark volcanic sand doesn’t look very appealing, but it is a good place for swimming and snorkelling. Thanks to the large shrimp population in waters around Lovina the area attracts lots of dolphins which makes for a great day trip.

Bali tours - Bali beach bungalow

South Bali tours Bungalow on paradise beach

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Price: £123 per person -  based on 2 people
Departure: Daily from Belangan
Route: Bukit peninsula
The funny thing about Bali is that although it is renowned as a popular beach destination, most of the beaches on the island are actually made up of rather unappealing black volcanic sand. For this reason, most tourists congregate around the southern part of the island at Kuta. This is one of the few places where you can find picture-perfect golden beaches, although it comes hand in hand with crowds of tourists and high-rise hotels. Luckily, after a long search, we’ve found the best of both worlds in the Bukit peninsula at the southernmost tip of Bali. This is the last in our list of Bali tours and here you’ll find beautiful quiet beaches and picturesque bungalows in a setting that you’d usually only find further inland.
