During these trips to Indonesia, you’ll travel individually by private car with driver. If you like, we can string the modules together to form a comprehensive Indonesia holiday, but you can also choose to do one, or just a couple of the tours. It’s all up to you. A couple of days on the beautiful Gili Islands is a wonderful way to end your Indonesia trip, giving you a chance to relax on the beach after all your trips to Indonesia before boarding the plane home.

Trips to Indonesia Authentic Lombok

Route:	Sekotong - Tetebatu - Sasak tour - Tetebatu

Lombok is the most popular island out of these trips to Indonesia in the Nusa Tenggara region. This 5-day Lombok trip will let you experience the best of the island, taking you to the wide-swept sparkling white beaches of Lombok’s south coast and the fresh, green scenery of the island’s countryside. Sekotong has picture-postcard white beaches and a bright blue sea against a backdrop of high mountain ridges. This small coastal town hasn’t been discovered by mass tourism yet, and has therefore managed to keep a lot of its authentic local charm. Tetebatu at the foot of the Rinjani volcano is surrounded by green paddy-fields and (in June & July) tobacco plantations. It’s a peaceful place with some wonderful hiking trails to the nearby waterfalls. You can also visit some of the neighbouring villages to the traditional pottery being made by local potters.

Trips to Indonesia Footsteps on the volcano

Duration:	4 days / 3 nights

Route:	Sembalun - Rinjani - Senaru

Experience a thrilling trek to the summit of Rinjani with this 4-day Lombok trekking tour through Gunung Rinjani National Park. Your trek kicks off with a steep climb to the crater rim where you’ll spend the night in small tents with magnificent views across the valleys below. The next morning you’ll head down to the crater lake where you can relieve your aching muscles in the hot springs. Then it’s uphill again to the crater rim, but this time on the other side of the volcano so you can enjoy the view again as the sun slowly sets. After another night on the summit you’ll descend to the small town of Senaru.

The Gilis are a cluster of paradise islands just off the coast of Lombok, far enough from Bali to have maintained their laid-back atmosphere, but close enough to combine a stay with your Bali trip without making it to Lombok as well. Just off the coast of north Lombok and not far from Bali, you'll find the paradise Gili Islands. The most authentic island in the Nusa Tenggara cluster has to be the catholic island Flores. It's also the largest island of the eastern part of Nusa Tenggara and owes its name to the Portugese who named it Cape of Flowers. The number of tourists that visit Flores is still quite small, so the island still has an untouched charm. It also means accommodation here isn’t completely developed yet, ranging from basic to very basic. Flores is dominated by a number of volcanoes, including famous Kelimutu, that tower over the landscape and divide the island into a number of ethnic groups, many of which still live by traditional means. During this Lombok Gili Islands tour, you’ll travel from east to west Flores, across spectacular countryside, mountains, rice paddies, coast, plantations and small mountain villages.

Trips to Indonesia In search of the dragon

Duration:	1 day

Route:	Day trip to Komodo Island

This is the last in this list of trips to Indoensia and it takes you to Komodo, a hilly island between Flores and Sumbawa. Komodo is home to the giant monsters known as Komodo dragons. This lizard, not surprisingly the largest reptile on earth, can grow up to 3 metres and weigh up to 100kg. The island of Komodo is now part of the Komodo National Park which also includes the neighbouring island Rinca. Accompanied by a ranger, you’ll explore both islands on foot in search of the dragon. The ranger has a stick to fend off any threatening lizards but keep your wits about you, these animals are huge. Seeing Komodo dragons in their natural habitat is a thrilling experience, ranked by many travellers as one of the highlights of their trip.
